Since I have been “collecting” Bare Minerals eye shadows for almost 9 years, my stash has grown so much that I couldn’t possibly fit my entire eye shadow collection into one blog. Therefore, I’ve decided to break them into five separate blogs, grouped by color. In each blog, I will tell you which are my favorites. Then, as a grand finale, I will show you my favorite color combinations, as requested by some of my loyal readers :-).
Today, you get to browse my stash of
bareMinerals Eyeshadows – Light/Neutral Colors
bareMinerals Loose Eyeshadow Review:
*High quality ingredients, without all of the bad stuff 🙂
*Great pigmentation/color payoff (with a few exceptions)
*Don’t be stymied by the loose form! While it does make them a little messy to work with (see tips for applying below), it also makes them super easy to blend and gives them a longer “shelf-life” as they don’t have any “binder ingredients”.
*Can be applied wet or dry
*Will stay put all day when applied over a primer
Size: .02 oz/.57g = full size (referred to as “small” on BE website). Many times in various kits, shadows will be offered in a “petite” size and that is .01 oz/.28g.
Cost: $14 each (if purchased individually). You can save a TON of money by purchasing shadows in kit, especially if you shop the “Beauty Rush” sales on the Bare Escentuals website. By following this strategy, I have gotten full size shadows for less than $3 each!
How To Apply (and avoid a mess :-): Dip a brush into the shadow; then press the brush into the lid of the eyeshadow; tap off the excess.
Where To Buy: Best selection ~ Bare Escentuals’ Boutiques or online at bareescentuals.com. Also available at Sephora, Ulta, beauty.com and QVC.com

Whew! We made it! If you are thinking, “there are a lot of similar colors here”…you’d be right! That’s what happens when I buy mostly eyeshadow kits….they all seem to come with at least one (sometimes more) light/neutral shadow which is usually similar to something I already have 🙂
