Nuts for Coconuts!

Recently, I've been on a coconut binge!  It seems that every time I'm in the store or shopping on-line, my coconut-radar goes off and I'm drawn like a magnet to something new being offered in a coconut flavor or scent.  I find that I'm unable to resist that sweet tropical scent/flavor....maybe it's because when I smell it, I'm immediately transported to the beach of some tropical island, and picture myself slathered in suntan lotion and sipping a Pina Colada (sans the Rum of course :-)

So today I thought I'd share some of my favorite products in case you get a craving for coconuts....

Blue Diamond Toasted Coconut Almonds
Slightly sweet, sugar-like coating; no chunks of coconut so if you like the flavor of coconut but not the texture, you'll love these!
Where to Buy:  Target, Walmart

Newtons Fruit Thins - Toasted Coconut drizzled with Dark Fudge
Absolutely delicious!!! And they are filled with great, all natural ingredients and once again, no noticeable bits of coconut.
Where to Buy:  Target, Walmart - in the cookie/cracker aisle

Desert Essence Coconut Shampoo and Conditioner
Not only do these smell AMAZING, but they actually work really well on the hair and you don't have to use very much.  My hair was particularly dry a few months ago after having it highlighted.  I noticed an immediate difference and after a few weeks, my hair was noticeably softer and felt less like "straw" :-)
Where to Buy:  Vitacost (BEST price!), Sprouts or other health food stores

St. Ives Indulgent Coconut Milk Body Wash
This is by far one of my all-time favorite products!  The bottle is HUGE and was around $3.99 (regular price), it's made from natural ingredients, is super foamy and smells absolutely delicious!!!
Where to Buy:  Target, Walmart

Organic Fiji Nourishing Lotion - Pineapple Coconut
This body lotion is phenomenal!  It's a rich thick lotion that is super moisturizing, all natural ingredients and it smells like a Pina Colada!  It's a little pricey but a wonderful indulgence :-)
Where to Buy:  Vitacost

Dr. Bronner's Fresh Pressed Virgin Coconut Oil
There are TONS of brands of coconut oil on the market now but this happens to be my current favorite.  It has a light coconut scent and I love using it to shave with or as my moisturizer as it leaves the skin with a nice glow, enhancing my faux tan :-)  As you can see in the picture, Coconut oil does solidify when the temperature gets cool.  To bring it back to a liquid state, remove the lid and pop it in the microwave or fill a large cup with hot water and submerge for a minute or so.
Where to Buy:  Vitacost

Monoi Tiki Tahiti Vanilla Coconut Oil
The super sweet scent smells like dessert!  This is great for use as an all-over moisturizer....gives your skin a beautiful glow.  Just like all coconut oils, this does solidify when it gets cold.  To bring it back to a liquid state, remove the lid and pop it in the microwave or fill a large cup with hot water and submerge for a minute or so.  Oh, and don't be alarmed with you see a dark, branch-like object in the bottle....that's a Tahitian Gardenia flower :-)
Where to Buy:  Vitacost

Pacifica Indian Coconut Nectar Perfume Roll-On
When shopping with my BFF last week, we came across this at Target.....one sniff of this and I knew it was coming home with me.  This is a very sweet coconut creme scent, maybe with a hint of vanilla.  It's not super long lasting but it's the perfect size to throw in my purse and touch up through the day.
Where to Buy:  Target
